SnipeOffice started in 2024 with one job. Stop corrupting Chinese text on CSV export. Two years later it is the widest-reaching office suite in existence, and we mean that literally. No other project ships a working build across as much hardware as we do.
What you can run it on, today
Windows 3.1 on a 286. Windows 95, 98, Me, 2000, XP (32 and 64-bit), Vista, 7, 8/8.1, 9, 10, and 11. That is roughly 42 years of hardware, four architectures, and every major desktop operating system ever shipped.
Fighting Planned Obsolescence
Old hardware does not stop being useful the moment its manufacturer stops selling it. A Pentium III running Windows 2000 still edits a document. A PowerPC G4 still opens a spreadsheet. Every year the industry tells people their perfectly functional computer is obsolete and needs replacing. We disagree, and we are building the software to prove it.

Desktop SnipeOffice
The full LibreOffice 25 core with our BOM-first CSV and text pipeline plus modified filters on top. Runs natively on everything from a Quadra 700 to an M5 MacBook. On modern Windows and Linux you get contemporary DOCX, XLSX, PPTX handling, Apple iWork filters, EPUB, Markdown, and the full modern format set. On legacy systems you get the same suite with the compatibility engineering needed to make it run stable and clean on the target OS. Installer or portable, your choice.
Snipe Cloud Office
Writer, Calc, Impress, myPage, and Form Manager in the browser. Two channels sit behind one account. Legacy for Internet Explorer 5.5 and 6 era engines, modern for Chromium 80+ and current Firefox and Safari. Opens .docx, .xlsx, .pptx, every ODF variant, CSV, TSV, and dozens more. myPage is a full multi-file web site editor with SEO meta tools, .htaccess rule builder, error and page generatorn. Form Manager collects survey and contact replies without the spam-prone mess of email delivery.

Native Android app, 25.8 Alpha, currently available as a signed APK. Full Writer, Calc, Impress, and Draw. Save, Save As, Export to PDF, Print. Not a wrapper around Cloud, not a stripped-down viewer, the real suite on your phone. Passes standard Android security scans clean. Sideload it, launch it, work.
SnipeOS
Every Snipe app preloaded into one Linux distribution. SnipeOffice, Snipe Browser, and the rest of the stack, configured and ready. Boot it on old hardware, boot it on new hardware, boot it in a virtual machine. It is the fastest path from bare metal to a working, private, ad-free office environment.
And still the original promise
Chinese, Japanese, Russian, Arabic, emoji, mixed-language data, it all survives the trip to Notepad, to databases, to web backends, to subtitle players, without a single garbled character. No plugin, no setting, no workaround. It just works, everywhere, on everything we build.
This is not a checkbox feature. It is why the project exists. In 2024 a client kept coming back with Chinese text arriving broken on the other end of a CSV export. Every major suite could produce a beautiful spreadsheet and then wreck the encoding the moment you saved it out. We shelved the workarounds and forked LibreOffice to fix the problem at the source. Two years later that same commitment runs through every build, every platform, every filter.
